Storage on the other side of a border
Warehousing hardware near the site is straightforward until the warehouse is in a country your company does not exist in. Then the goods cannot simply be released to you, because the customs authority has nobody to release them to.
There are two ways to hold stock across a border and they have different cost shapes. Bonded storage defers duty and tax until the goods are actually released, which suits equipment that may sit for months or may be re-exported. Cleared commercial storage costs the duty up front and gives you unrestricted access, which suits equipment going to site in weeks.
